All My Glass Dildos Are Safe

We had a good shaker here in Southern California today. I haven't felt one of those in a while so it was a good wake up call to finally install the wall hooks to my cabinet, so it doesn't fall on my doggie. I had to help teach today so I was in the basement of an 8 story building. We had just let class out to lunch and we started shaking. We were mostly jerking and the noise was creepy. It was that loud noise that you hear when an 8 story building is about to fall on your head. Well it didn't fall....it just shook. No damage done. I guess I missed a good ride on the upper floors they said they were rolling instead of shaking....which is always a fun ride.

My biggest fear is Homer...he is a real emotional boy and I was scared he was all alone freaked out. Luckily I emailed a few friends as soon as it happened..since my cellphone and our land lines didnt work...but the internets work.
So this is what happens...all local land lines are used for emergency (police, fire, 911) use only...the trick is if you are out of state you can get through.(sometimes) Cell phones were down for a few hours...sucked. Anyways...I got a hold of Lost via email and she called my neighbor's land line to go check on Homer...isn't that sweet. I got an email back saying Homer was safe...that piece of mind knowing someone is safe is priceless. Lost was also very nice and called my neighbors mom to check on her. So now if anyone has an emergency...we have tested this, it works...but emailing someone is the best. I haven't taught Homer how to email me yet...the whole no thumbs thing gets in the way.

This is also the best time to get rid of obnoxious gifts that you have received from friends or family that you feel the need to display when they come by. "Oh Mom, you know that hideous ceramic horse you got me for Christmas? It fell in the earthquake. I thought of you as soon as I saw the pieces across the floor. Please don't buy a replacement ..it can never be replaced."

I would never say anything like that. How awful...that is like lying about how big your breasticles are.

Glad you and the pupster are fine. I have so many important people living in CA and it's been nerve wracking with fires and earthquakes lately.

Glad you and Homer and the dildos survived. (Is that the proper order of importance?) I've never been through an earthquake, but have survived a few hurricanes.

Did Grandma's glass shotgun/bottle survive? And my toaster better not have fallen to the floor and crumbled to pieces....Good excuse though, as you said, to 'clean up'. I still think you should look for a job up North. Glad you and Homer, and oh yeah, little bro, are o.k.

I'm so happy that you and Homer are ok... And of course that the glass dildoes didn't get broken. Phew! You crack me up with your blog labels. Silly. OH, and I am not sweet! I'm mean and grouchy.

Funny how our minds all head to our blog buddies in the area when something like that happens. Just glad you and Homer are okay. Went through a few of those when we lived in Mexico City - that creeking noise alone can be pretty damned scary.

And what's this about lying about big breasticles? Who would do that?

does 'Lost' realize how much email she is going to be getting as all of us from around the country use her as our emergency contact.
(by the way...'Lost' I am having a little surgical procedure tomorrow morning - I'll call if I need a ride home mmmmk?)

HaHa! Miss J never thought of using a quake to get rid of unwanted knick-knacks- GENIUS! Glad to hear you & Homes aer OK. MIss is lucky enough she was able to drive home to check on the Boys, but the stairs up & down out of her office almost killed her. Elevators were out til 3!

Glad that you all are safe. What a great idea to use a friend out of state to help get word out in a situation like yours.

Who's lying about their breasticles? Enquiring minds... (Gawd I haven't heard the word breasticles since I was a teenager!)

maybe you should get homer on web cam so that you can keep track of him wherever you are.

Glad to hear Homer is safe and unaffected despite the shake up!

Syd and YDG - Seriously? You've never heard of glass dildos? (head shaking)

Lovie,

It isn't lesbians that make me ill at ease. I said the masculine sensibility makes me uncomfortable. I wasn't very clear on my show. Please understand.

Unclear kisses,
Vera
