Homer Loves Obama

I do not agree with people who put stupid outfits on their dogs...but Homer really wanted to show his support. He insisted I also take pictures and post them on the internets. I also hate it when people make up conversations they have with their dogs...weird isn't it? I actually do it all the time.

In other news, my parents are in SoCal...I have a younger brother who lives in Ventura County..who made babies with his wife. My parents feel the need to come and visit these babies. They have 20 local grandkids..you think they would get enough staying at home. No, my little brother had to have kids. So, of course they just can't play with the grandbrats and go home. They want to visit me and my other brother. So they are coming down Thursday, the same evening I have a" vote no on Prop 8" event, also the same evening at the same event friends of mine are getting married. I explained to my Mom that I have a wedding to go to, she said, "on a Thursday night?" I then explained it was for GAY people. I am sure she is praying for them right now.

We are also not removing our yard signs...My parents will be praying for us for the next year. My brother has been volunteering full time at the South LA Obama campaign office. I think he should take my parents to work with him on Friday. That would be fun...for them. So I hope there won't be much talk about politics, except my brother is pretty gung ho, and a great debater, matched with my Dad who is as right wing as they come and a great debater I have a feeling it might be chaotic. I will need to start drinking I think...that will numb me down for a few days.

Is a Santa suit considered a bad outfit to put on a dog, on Christmas? What about a coat when it's -40C? Those are truly the only times I've dressed my dog.

:)

Homer is smart. Like his mama. Obama 08!

Lost-Yes I was naked..it is hot here...I talk to Homer all the time..and I answer for him..all the time

Rox- those outfits sound adorable and necessary..If I was in the cold Homer would have to wear coats too. He gets cold when it is below 60F.

Hi, I'm just stopping by as another regular reader of SubtleKnife who sees your comments there regularly. Another Californian here, up in Santa Barbara.

Very cute dog pics. And very funny/scary description of your parents' visit - at least you and your brother challenge your parents a little bit. It's good for them. Might be good for you too, though it's painful medicine. Good luck with the visit.

Good luck with the family visit. We feel the same way whenever the knuckle Head's family comes to visit - his parents are nuts and his sister (and her 8 children!) are fundamentalist Christians. So I feel your pain. Just breathe deep and don't yell. And have your brother take them to Obama headquarters!!!!

Homer's not only handsome, he's smart, and he has good political instincts!

Joe-Welcome! I love SB. My brother is the only one who will challenge my parents ..I keep quite..believe it or not.

Elizabeth-KH's family sounds exactly like mine...and yes Homer is a natural born democrat.

otter-ha I wish I could. SInce I never drink, I think one beer will calm me before the storm.

Tough times - I tried to donate to the No to Prop 8 - I tried but couldn't because I'm outside the US.

If the rest of the world could vote there's no way McCain/Palin would get in.

Political differences in families can be a big source of tension. Sometimes it's hard to agree to disagree when it's someone you care about, because you want the people you care about to feel the same way about the important issues that you do... speaking for myself, anyway. Hope the drama is kept to a minimum while they're in town.

Conversations with your dog are not wierd - unless he starts answering you back. Oh wait a minute Reese use to do that... forget what I just said.

Lucky Obama he got one handsome lad on his side!
