Bubby the Bully

I don't own a cat. My neighbor has several. One of them, Bubby, the neighborhood bully discovered my dog door a while back. He used to conveniently show up when I was cooking bacon. Now he is a regular. Bubby, bullies every dog in the neighborhood, Dogs will avoid him at all cost. Bubby will be on the sidewalk and Dogs will stretch their leashes to the opposite side to avoid him. He has wreaked havoc on the tips of unsuspecting sniffers. It is all sorta cute to watch how the animals all know their place. Bubby is the boss of the dogs, cats and humans. He is also a vocal cuddly boy. He will jump up on my chest purring and kneading while I am watching TV. Bubby has decided my house is much more suited for him than his "original owner's" house. The other night I walked into the tv room and well, I have found some incriminating evidence against Bubby the bully. Turns out he and Homer were cuddling. What will all the other neighborhood cats think if they found out the "master bully of all" was cuddling with a DOG?

High Tide and Milk

There was a really big moon on Friday night, which caused a super high tide this weekend. There is a lot of scientific facts to back my statement up, but trust me the tide was high..I have pictures..who needs science.
First we have Bayshore, this is where I swim sometimes in the summer..there is a mile loop swimmers do in this bay. After I am done swimming I go one block over to a cupcake shop and reward my 100 calories burned with 300 more. Hmmm, I wonder why I never lose weight. okay enough about me..this post is all about the tide and all the science and important stuff we need to survive. Besides that cupcake shop moved way down on the other end of 2nd street..so I ....back to science.
Okay what we have here is a lifeguard chair, sticking out of the water, usually it is sticking out of the sand on a beach...this is scientific proof we had an unusually high tide.

This is more proof that the tide was high, this is the bench I sit on when I take Homer down to swim. To the right of the bench is a boat ramp...you can't see it. (because the tide is high) Oh and for all the Dexter fans...this is one of the places they film a lot of outdoor shots. I might have to get my good camera and do a Long Beach Dexter tour. Did I mention there was a really really big moon on Friday.

Okay further proof that the world might flood because of gay people. This is 2nd street bridge, usually, well at low tide boats pass under this bridge, now a really small kayaker can't even pass under. (well not right now..cause I think the high tide is gone) Science is very hard to understand without the proper pictures.

Now you all know exactly why the moon caused the high tide. Why the high tide turns into a low tide and why the moon isn't always full. See I covered a lot of material..I will give you a few days to let it sink in and then I will test you.

Now on to an important history lesson. I saw MILK this weekend, and it was an awesome movie. I went with Greg, and his boyfriend and their friend and my friend. (Don't worry we will cover proper english next week) It was fun to meet another blogger. He is a cool dude and so is his posse. I am hoping since he is such a lovely writer he will write a review of the movie, because there is no way I can tell you how good it is..(limited vocabulary) The movie made me think how awesome our gay pioneers were, what balls they had. We get so comfy in our little world, hiding who we are to certain people, because it is easy. Those old queens stood up for our rights, risking their livelihood. I wish we had a Harvey Milk for our Prop 8.
No test on history,.....it is always changing.

No Rain Today Except....

It is not suppose to rain today, except for the rain the fell on me on my way to work, the rain will not be here till Saturday. How is it possible our Los Angeles forecasters screw up weather? We must have the easiest weather to forecast, but sometimes it is raining (rarely) and the weather dude or chick will be live on TV, I guess no windows in the studio, and claim there is no rain in the forecast. As a bike rider I would like to have a competent weather report. I guess that is not going to happen, the weather peeps here have to be beautiful, not actually knowledgable. We are suppose to get "cold" weather this coming week. Snow and rain, snow will be in the mountains, rain in the low lands. So, for the first time in 2 years, we turned on our gas heater. Well my brother did, it was 80F out, and we had all the windows open, because when you first turn one of these heaters on it makes your house stink. So, we are now prepared for our "cold" weather.

This is a clip from LA Story. I couldn't find the clip of when he pre-tapes the weather forecast. I really think that is what the forecaster do here though...that is why I got wet on my way into work.

Forgot A Title

I have a pretty booked weekend..The Christmas parade is Saturday..I have never missed it in 20 years. Tonight a few of us might go see Milk (the movie) but they are not showing it in Long Beach..How stupid..huge population of gays here people!!! The closest place is in Orange County, there are only 2 places showing it from here to San Diego. There are a few theaters in LA that are playing it and that is it. Pisses me off. So we either have to drive or wait till it goes to DVD or a theater decides they want to show a "gay movie" in a gay city. Technically it is not a "gay movie" it is part of California history so it should be playing everywhere..god dammit!

I have a ton of other things to do this weekend but I am sure you would be bored with my list of things. So everyone else have a good weekend. Oh and here is a video of Natasha Bedingfield..my future wife.

Facebook Follies

Seriously, I am sometimes overwhelmed with all the twitters/facebooks/blogs and whatever else I currently am goofing off with. I never use my real name on any of the stuff I do.. Originally it was to protect myself, I didn't want people googling me and discovering my blog. I still have internet/separation, there are people in my non-virtual life that have no idea I blog. I never speak of particular friends or post their pictures so it is really not an important thing that I tell any non-virtual friend that I blog..
I prefer not to be photographed. When I was doing gigs with the "fugitive about town" I would never want to cozy up to any of the stars and have my picture with them...never been my thing. As I have gotten use to people discovering me via facebook I have opened up a little. I have a lot of local facebook friends..where we hang out in real life. I have family on facebook and I have recently discovered a lot of classmates. When I originally filled out the facebook info, I lied about name, school, place of work. I still have my internet name, but I decided to put my real highschool in the other day. Wow what a shock, all of a sudden I was looking at a list of people I have not seen in almost 25 years. The names and photos of these people brought back all kinds of fun memories. I decided to ask some of them to be my friend...however,,, using a fake name..they would have no idea who was knocking on their door. So with each new friend request I put in a little message, "Hey John Holmes, its me Rosanne Barr"...(I actually used my real name). As I was looking at the list, I realized...how weird, I have to ask to be their friend. I got a little nervous..what if they deny me? Really some of the people I recognize but we weren't really friends 25 years ago...why now? Well nobody has said NO..so no worries..but really..my whole self image was taken back 25 years ago. I am a grown woman and we now have this awesome technology to keep in touch with old classmates or complete strangers, and I felt a little shy. Then I realized its life..so what if they don't respond. I will never probably see these people again in real life. (except I might go to the 25 reunion this summer) Anyhow, I am getting a little better. I posted a picture of myself today on facebook..after numerous request from old classmates.

This is the hat I wear until Xmas...it is a cool santa hat and I don't have to comb my hair the entire month.
My full face is on facebook...see I am still a little discrete. The nice thing about facebook it has an Iphone app...so most of my facebooking is done on my phone. Easy to upload pictures and stuff..I wish blogger would get a mobile app...how cool.
So I know some of you are already my facebook friends..but if not..look for me.. under Sage Web.
